The L'Envol Stimulation
Center is a non-profit organization created
in 1996 by dedicated parents of children having severe
communication problems. We have a mission to facilitate
a better understanding of the deficiencies experimented
by children having developmental troubles, and to promote
on all levels, support services to those children and
their families. Since the very beginning, we want to act
precociously. With that in mind, we accept very young
children who have not been officially diagnosed; their
only common ground is that they experience great communication
disorders.
In connection with our objectives, we offer:
- Evaluation, individual intervention plan and follow-up services.
- Specialized individual services in early stimulation (1 to 5 years old).
- Recreation services (6 to 12 years old), summer day camp.
- Consultation service and seminar/workshops for parents and daycare workers and
- Documentation center and location of adapted educational activities.
We implement the principle of the TEACCH program (Treatment
and Education of Autistic and related Communication
Handicapped Children), the technical intervention
of A.B.A. program (Applied Behavioral Analysis) and
the use of visual supports for improving communication.
Our good quality in the services and financial management
are ensured by a seven (7) member administrative committee,
formed by persons concerned with the organization.
The progress the children make and the light in their
parent's eyes as well as their constant appreciation
are all the incentive we need to keep on working. |
